Susan Cooney is State President for the 2011-2013 term. Her theme is "Ensure Nature; Educate, Advocate." She challenges all members to reach out, not only to fellow club members, but to the public. We can do so through our schools, workshops, and club programs. By using both print and electronic media we spread the word about what garden club membership offers. Shirley Nicolai of Maryland is National Garden Club president for 2011-2013. Her theme is "Proudly Serving our Members and Communities." Florence Smith of Michigan serves as Central Region Director for 2011-2013 with a theme of "Together We Bloom and Grow." The seven states that comprise Central Region are Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The Annual Central Region Meeting is in St. Louis, Missouri October 9-10, 2012.
